The Rain: ~Jyoti Shah
The sky turns grey
And the little drops come out to play
The teary clouds bid them farewell
And send them on a journey to live and dwell
They arrive falling from the slate grey sky
To come down to Earth, and fly so high
Dainty drops arrive on long leaves
And slip and slide as they squeal
So quiet, so pure they laugh and glisten
To hear them, sit still and listen
As they grow, enlarge and swell
The clouds whisper, “You’re doing well”
The wee drops slowly fade away
And once again, the sky turns grey
They fall now at a higher speed
Heavy, dark and full of greed
Clouds turn eigengrau
And the sky looks so different now
Slowly the large drops infiltrate the soil
Wondering how they caused so much turmoil
Clouds are now no longer grey
And the sun shines bright on this glorious day
